Estate Sale - The Viewpoint Inn
Yesterday Gregory and I celebrated my birthday by going to the estate/liquidation sale of the beautiful Viewpoint Inn in Corbett, Oregon. I bought the little foot stool that you will see in one of the pictures. The movie Twilight was filmed here in Oregon as well as parts of Washington, and the beautiful prom scene was filmed at The Viewpoint Inn. Alas the building caught fire on July 10. The owners plan to remove the remains of it and to rebuild. The view is spectacular. We now have some really nice restaurant dishes, glassware and pots and pans!

Ride in the Country
Today Gregory and I took a lovely ride into the countryside around us here at the end of the Oregon Trail. I took pictures (with my iPhone) of this wonderful old homestead from the 1800's.
We also did antique shops in the following Oregon towns, where we scored some wonderful "early Oregon" primitive treasures: Carver - The Wood Pile, Estacada - Wade Creek Antiques and Gresham, Vintage Station.
It was a lovely day!

Old Brown Fabrics Came From Old Lavender
I know that many of you are already aware of this, but just in case, I must mention it yet again. (I already mentioned it on my Old & Good site). When you see the old brown gowns, quilts, and other brown textile items, they were usually originally lavender to purple.
Pictured here are some strips taken from a very old quilt. Note the lavender on the seams that never saw sunlight.
Just had to share.
